Academic Development : Academic Counseling
Individual consultations provide opportunities for students to
- deepen understanding of their academic strengths and weaknesses;
- explore options for change; and,
- develop strategic solutions to academic problems.
Specific study skills, time and stress management, and exam-taking techniques are frequent topics of discussion. Screening for learning disabilities, assisting in arranging in-depth psycho-educational assessments, helping students understand their assessment results, and implementing special accommodations may also be part of the counseling process.
At any time, students may schedule an appointment to discuss their academic concerns. E-mail also is used to share study tips with students.
